newVideoPlayer(”gelbath_giz.flv”, 475, 286,”");Remember that viscerally disturbing scene from The Matrix when you see the liquefied human goo engulf the baby? Well now you can bring that memory into the comfort of your own bathroom with the Gelicity Spa Jelly Bath. More than just another bubble bath, Gelecity transforms your bathwater into a lavender, jasmine and bergamot-infused gel. While not necessarily the epitome of relaxation, a gel bath holds heat for three times longer than water. Just make sure you add the bundled dissolver before draining the tub, lest you clog the pipes with what will be the most embarrassing conversation you’ve ever had with a plumber. $20. Looks like the Serial ATA International Organization is working on a specification that will do away with the need for SATA drives to hook up to a separate power connection, and this development ought to be made available to disk drive makers before the year is over. The new specification will be known as Power Over eSATA. I know that such a development would be most welcome, as it will definitely improve convenience when it comes to adding another device to your system, whether it is for casual storage expansion or an on-the-spot backup process. Power Over eSATA was jointly developed by Intel Corp., Hitachi Ltd. (Read the full post about ‘Power Over eSATA Coming Soon’…)

Now this is one concept ring that business people ought to like - instead of scanning in your card using a business card scanner, why not exchange information over a simple handshake? Like a dance, it takes two to tango so you will need the other person to wear one of these in order for it to work. Information normally found on a business card is transferred over to your ring and vice versa, making this a convenient way of not forgetting where you’ve placed the bunch of cards you collected at the last convention…too bad there isn’t any timeframe on when exactly we’ll be able to see one of these materialize as an actual device. The Free Lines idea allows you to have outlets exactly where you want them without dealing with messy strands of cables that we normally put up with these days. This is made possible via a series of modular outlet blocks and cables that are able to snap onto one another, leaving you with mess-free wiring along with the exact amount of outlets you require for a designated area. Hopefully this Sung-hun Choi-inspired design will be able to make its way onto a manufacturing plant one of these days… Tags: electronic toys, consumer technology, home theater, hdtv (Read the full post about ‘Free Lines Help Reduce Clutter’…)

It happened again•According to not a few people, we had the fastest and most reliable liveblog around. From what I was told, we had roughly 5 minute lead on our closest competitors on images with publish times at about 10 seconds from snap, and for text, we were neck and neck with the always fast Macrumors. And we never went down. Thanks to the tech teams at Gawker and Wordpress, the flying fingers of Giz’s editorial staff, and of course, all you readers who stayed fixated on the Jobsnote via the Giz.

Posted Jan 17th 2008 7:13AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Wearables Let’s face it — that VHS camcorder you’re still holding on to would probably do you more good as a Salvation Army donation than anything else, but if you’ve got even a single DIY bone in your person, don’t hand it over just yet. The same fellow that brought you the $40 spy glasses is at it once more, this time concocting a night vision “headset” with just a VHS camcorder viewfinder, a dozen ultra-bright LEDs, black / white mini camera and a few other nuts and bolts. After all was said and done, we’re left with a device that enables you to easily see in darkness and record your journey. Das Kapital Money Box You just have to love the exquisite irony of the Das Kapital Money Box. If you dump your pocket change into this hefty tin book every evening, in no time at all you’ll find you’ve stashed away a considerable hoard of cash (and you probably won’t even be able to lift it). We’re not sure that Marx would have entirely approved, unless of course you plan to disperse your savings to the people, but it’s a great way of saving up some dosh. Of course it’s also a pretty safe place to stash your cash, as we can’t imagine many burglars suspecting that a hefty socio-political tome in your bookcase would conceal a small fortune in treasure. While the Everex CloudBook is not out until the end of this month, it seems that Everex is already talking about a successor that will roll out sometime this year with a larger display without pushing the price beyond the $500 mark. As with the CloudBook, this slightly larger iteration will run on Linux as well as use other free open-source applications. Having something like this to tote around events like CES would be great, since I won’t break my back lugging my Dell Inspiron. “Say hello to my little friend” would be a line that goes down well with the Disintengrator Rubber Band Gun. After all, this bad boy from the UK is capable of spitting out 40 rounds per second from two dozen revolving barrels. It has a maximum range of 22 feet and has one of the worst recharge rates ever - taking five hours for a full charge which it dispenses a world of pain in a mere seven seconds. Watch the YouTube video and be afraid - be very afraid. Tags: mobiles, robots, hi fi, cellphone (Read the full post about ‘Disintengrator Rubber Band Gun’…)
