Comcast, Please Stop Bugging Me For Money I Don’t Owe You

Comcast, Please Stop Bugging Me For Money I Don’t Owe You
At CES last month, I covered Comcast CEO Brian Roberts’ keynote speech, in which he promised to improve customer service and "fess up" whenever anything’s their fault. The irony isn’t lost on me: Comcast’s been bugging me and my family for money I do not owe it. It will not stop billing for service cut off in December, and nothing we say stops it. In December, we moved from a rental into our new house, just up the road. We called to have our cable service transferred. It was cut off three days before the scheduled date (imagine if it could do installations so promptly!) at the old place, leaving us without service until we moved into the new one. Pan Am - Secret Agent Laptop Bag Flight Blue

Pan Am - Secret Agent Laptop Bag Flight Blue
Thanks Anne P. for the groovy suggestion for Gizmos for Geek’s Gizmo of the Day! Granted, as you mentioned, it’s not quite a gizmo but the laptop case is pretty cool for geek’s who likes retro stuff (like you!). While younger geek’s would probably have no clue what “Pan Am” is other than from movies like “Catch Me If You Can” or one of the Bond flicks like “Dr. No”, “From Russia With Love”, “Casino Royale”, “Live and Let Die” and “License to Kill” (I’m a Bond geek), the slightly older crowd will recognize the name, may have even been on a flight run by the Miami-based airline until their demise in 1991 but definitely know about the terrorist attack against Pan Am Flight 103. Vudu Box Comes Down in Price to $300, Gets Ready to Fight Apple TV

Vudu Box Comes Down in Price to $300, Gets Ready to Fight Apple TV
Vudu reduced the price of its highly rated HD video box by 25% starting yesterday, down to an almost-reasonable $300. If you bought the device in the last month, Vudu promises to credit your account up to $100. Interestingly, this announcement comes only a week after Apple repositioned its Apple TV box as a stand alone device, removing the need for a PC entirely and thereby pitting it directly against other set-top box services like the Vudu (and the cable companies as well, like Comcast). Even at $300, the Vudu is still more expensive than the $230 40 GB Apple TV, but at least they’re now within shouting distance.
