iPhone Gets 16GB Memory

iPhone Gets 16GB Memory
Apple has just made available a new iPhone that comes with 16GB of memory, pushing the price to $499 while keeping the lonely 8GB model company at an Apple Store near you. The latter will still see its price remain at $399, so those hoping for a price cut will be out of luck. It seems that all iPhone models will feature the most up-to-date software enhancements announced last month, including the ability to find your location automatically via the new Maps application. Will you be willing to fork out that kind of money for an additional 8GB of memory? Those who are used to carrying plenty of media files with them will probably find this a welcome addition. Hawaii Chair: The New Way to Look Like a Fool

Posted on Feb 5, 2008 11:16:23 PM

Here’s something new to be thankful for: the Hawaii Chair has not caught on in any significant way yet. Otherwise, you and I would be struggling to concentrate on the task at hand while idiots around us were furiously swiveling their hips as if they’d been impaled on a washing machine agitator.

The mail-order curiosity is a mostly ordinary-looking office chair with a 2,800 RPM "Hula motor" mounted underneath the seat. The idea is that you’ll wiggle your way to fitness without the drudgery of actual exercise.

P.S. — Is the guy in the infomercial saying "Feels great on my ass!" or "Feels great on my abs!"?

Microsoft Rolls Out New Mice

Microsoft Rolls Out New Mice
Microsoft has extended its stable of mice with two new additions - the Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 and the Wireless Laser Mouse 7000. The former will target users who are always on-the-go and prefer portability over ease-of-use (we all know that the more portable a mouse is, it will generally be less comfortable on the hand) while the latter peripheral can be quite heavy to lug around no thanks to the inclusion of rechargeable batteries within. Both the 6000 and 7000 mice are equipped with Microsoft’s HD Lasers and a several Vista-friendly buttons. The Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 will be released this March for $50, while the Wireless Laser Mouse 7000 costs an additional $20. (Read the full post about ‘Microsoft Rolls Out New Mice’…)

Citizen TW600 Pedometer
I suppose there is a reason for Citizen to come up with the TW600 pedometer which is touted to be the slimmest of its kind in the world - to inspire all you out there to achieve a slim and svelte body. Measuring just 1cm thin, it comes with a 3D accelerometer inside, doing away with the need to tie it to your wrist. All you need to do is place it in your bag or pocket and you’re good to go. The TW600 is capable of calculating hte number of steps, calories burnt, average speed, and distance traveled among others for up to a week. It measures a highly portable 73mm × 31mm × 10mm while tipping the scales at 25 grams. The Citizen TW600 will be released in half a dozen colors in Japan this March, retailing for $42 a pop. Review: THX Razer Mako Advanced Desktop Speakers Bring The Sonic Ruckus
We want a set of desktop speakers to do two things: look hotter than an Icelandic supermodel and rupture eardrums like a low altitude sonic boom. Trouble is, most 2.1 systems score big in the aesthetics department but cough up a fumble when it comes to serious sound. That was until we got a hold of a set of THX Razer Mako speakers. This 2.1 desktop system is one of the finest we’ve ever laid eyes or ears on. First off, the giant mushroom black matte speakers are gorgeous — they’re striking enough to amp up even the most grayscale office drone cubicle. Plus this unusual design serves an actual purpose. The rounded 100-watt satellites produce what’s called omni directional sound. (Read the full post about ‘Review: THX Razer Mako Advanced Desktop Speakers Bring The Sonic Ruckus’…)

Retro Spoof iPod Ad
This faux-pod ad actually features the first commercial pocket transistor radio, the Regency TR-1, and it was indeed $50 back in 1954.The iPod part, though, was added by Rob, of RKNY Design. Fourth undersea cable cut near UAE, suspicions rise
Posted Feb 5th 2008 11:34AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Networking For the fourth time in a week, an undersea communications cable in the Mediterranean Sea has apparently been cut, and while no official reports of subversion have surfaced just yet, things are beginning to get suspicious. Flag Telecom, a subsidiary of Indian conglomerate Reliance ADA Group, has had two cables damaged in the span of a week — a quandary it has never dealt with until now. Blenders are becoming popular and I have no idea why. Please do not misunderstand, I like blenders, I even use them from time to time, I just do not understand the fascination with overpriced and overpowered models. Realistically, you are only going to be blending things that you could normally get through with your teeth, right? How much power do you need? Wolfgang Puck answers that question with 1000W. They are not messing around here, there are six blades that spin clockwise and four stirring blades that spin counter clockwise. Zune owner suing Microsoft, claiming ear-damage from headphones
Microsoft is being sued due to a Zune owner getting ear damage from the headphones of his Zune. Joel Geddis is claiming that his Zune headphones gave him both an electric shock and also sent a very loud noise through his earbuds. This has since caused blood and fluid leakage from his ear canal as well as a “temporary threshold shift, and incessant ringing and discomfort.” This incident happened when he first bought his Zune back in November 2006. In November of 2006, I received an electric shock through the earbuds of my Microsoft Zune. Simultaneously, the Zune emitted a very loud noise through the earbuds and the device began to reset.
