The latest, announced today at Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress, is Sony Ericsson — a company heavily vested in Symbian by way of its UIQ division, so it’s unclear how the licensing deal will ultimately affect UIQ-based offerings. [MWC] This phone was recently leaked but Sony Ericsson is announcing it right now. Among the interesting features, we like the Shake Control, HSDPA (3.5G) and Music Recognition functions. Obviously the phone also has the usual music player, web browsers and video/photo upload/blogging. I remember back when Dell finally wised up and decided to put some AMD chips in their computers. Being a longtime AMD fan, I was overjoyed (even if I wouldn’t touch a Dell with a 10-foot pole) at their decision to give consumers a choice in CPUs. Unfortunately it was around that time that AMD began to really lose ground against Intel. They’ve yet to really pull out of their slump, and now Dell is reconsidering their sales of AMD chips. So far they’ve just nixed AMD CPUs from their online store. You can still find a few here and there, but that’s only temporary. They’ve add ed a few words of caution to those looking for AMD systems on their site: Shop for Dell computers with AMD processors in retail stores. As it turns out, Microsoft may be breaking a few hearts by not being able to fulfill all its Zune 80 Valentine’s Day Originals shipments, but not all is lost for their loving customers. Users who haven’t already gotten their units will apparently get a full refund — as well the player they ordered. Aw, isn’t that candy-heart sweet? And should you wind up with one of these for V-Day, you might try every so gingerly asking for dinner with that $250 your special someone saved.
