Dell intro’s rugged Latitude XFR D630
These rugged designed products always seem to have a military style to them, and the latest from Dell is not any different. The Latitude XFR D630 marks Dell’s first venture into the rugged laptop market and is intended for government and commercial users. The XFR D630 features a 14.1-inch display that is outdoor readable at 500 nits and is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processors. They also have shock isolated mounting to protect hard drive along with a sealed keyboard to prevent rain and dust (and crumbs) from sticking the keys. The XFR D630, of course also meets the military standard (MIL-STD 810F) specs, which means it can withstand extreme hot or cold temperatures, moisture and altitude. AMD demonstrates 45nm quad-core processors at CeBIT
Posted Mar 4th 2008 11:29AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Desktops In a woefully unstimulating press release, AMD has meekly trumpeted the fact that it’s demonstrating its “first 45nm quad-core chips running multiple operating systems and a range of processing intensive applications” at CeBIT. Unfortunately, little is known beyond that — aside from the fact that the processors showcased (”Shanghai” for servers, “Deneb” for desktops) were produced in Germany at the firm’s Fab 36 300mm manufacturing facility, that is. Still, AMD managed to reiterate that “this milestone” would be “the first of many” as it moves toward the release of 45-nanometer products later this year. ASUS’ 9-inch Eee PC, now with living pixels!
Posted Mar 4th 2008 6:20AM by Paul MillerFiled under: Features, Laptops We showed you quite a bit of the 9-inch Eee PC from ASUS yesterday, but they wouldn’t let us turn it on. Now that CeBIT has officially begun, however, ASUS is lighting up those pixels loud and proud. ASUS tells us the screen is 1024 x 600, and it looks to be almost the exact same pixel density as the 7-inch version. (Read the full post about ‘ASUS’ 9-inch Eee PC, now with living pixels!’…)

Microsoft TechFest 2008 Opens with the WorldWide Telescope Demo
I am attending Microsoft TechFest 2008 where Microsoft’s research labs from around the world will showcase their best work (36 demos). At the opening dinner we had a demo of the impressive Worldwide Telescope that was presented on February 27 at the TED conference (see the video). Curtis Wong, principal researcher of Microsoft’s Next Media Research group presented the project. Users can browse this virtual universe and get some information either from top scientists by launching audio files from pop up windows or by accessing other related sources on the Internet. The site allows them to create their guided tour of the universe by recording a video of their browsing experience with their personal comments. Oasis Media Player, definitely not a cellphone

Oasis Media Player, definitely not a cellphone
While it’s appearance may fool you, the Oasis Media Player will never be able to make a call, even if your life depended on it. Below it’s phone-like facade, it is only a portable media player with features that aren’t exactly ground breaking. With 2GB of onboard memory, it can be bumped up to 4GB via a miniSD card, the portable player supports the usual array of music and video formats with an FM radio and a five-mode equalizer thrown in for good measure. The smallish 2-inch TFT screen can display lyrics to the currently playing song while you are not watching movies or viewing your personal pictures on the go. Razer Lachesis Mouse Review

Razer Lachesis Mouse Review

The Razer Lachesis is a high-end gaming grade mouse that was released late last year, catering to the hardcore gamer market. As we all know, having the best gaming hardware on the table does not necessarily translate into frags, so you had best have the skills to justify the use of this mouse. The Lachesis is a 4000 DPI mouse, which is roughly five times as fast and sensitive as today’s average optical mouse (the majority of optical mice feature 800 DPI resolution), and is also ahead of the gaming mice crowd that tend to stop at 3200 DPI. Read on more of the review after the jump. (Read the full post about ‘Razer Lachesis Mouse Review’…)

Available as a new PSP Lite Value Pack, this bronze colored regular PSP Lite will feature a paltry 32MB Memory Pro Duo memory stick and an AV digital cable. Pricing has been set to €147 as at press time. You will probably pay a premium if you want to import it Stateside.
