When people refer to Facebook fatigue and more generally “social network fatigue,” it can mean two different things, either that (1) you’re bored with social networking and are spending less time with it, or (2) you’re generally exhausted from spending too much time keeping up with online interactions with your friends and updating your information. Web 2.0 Asia suggests that social network fatigue hit Korea and Japan a little earlier, in the same way that certain tech trends hit and then decline in Asia ahead of the U.S. and Europe. Apparently, Cyworld in Korea and and Mixi in Japan, have been losing their appeal with users for whom the novelty of online networking has worn off. Posted Mar 10th 2008 7:32AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Laptops We already knew the GX600 would be showing itself at CeBIT this year, but apparently, quite a few siblings made the trek to Germany as well — including the aforementioned unit’s 14.1-inch sister, the GX400. Moving on, we’ve got the 15.4-inch GX620 and 17-inch GX720, and while the former looks to arrive in a wood, leather or carbon fiber finish, the latter supposedly arrives with a black lacquer coat and a built-in subwoofer (among other goodies). The GT-730 gaming lappie was also mentioned, but unfortunately, all we know is that it gets its graphics prowess from some form of ATI Mobility Radeon. It is rumored that Microsoft is preparing a 60GB version of the Xbox 360 game console. That upgrade would happen in May or June – if that’s true, of course. There could be many reasons for this change, but we simply suppose that 60GB drives do not cost more these days and new buyers would benefit from an increased storage space. TOP 10 TransformersFeb 09, 2008 Number 10. Transformers Movie Deluxe Wreckage Just as DECEPTICON BRAWL is the hot-blooded, indiscriminate destroyer among the DECEPTICONS, WRECKAGE is the stone-cold fighter. Though he is as capable as any DECEPTICON of wholesale destruction, he carries twin blades for a reason. That is, he likes to be up close to his target. He lives to hear the shriek of metal on metal as his swords tear through AUTOBOT armor, and the sparking sizzle of shorting electronics as wires and conduits are severed. Change this advanced-conversion, DECEPTICON figure from robot mode to personnel carrier mode and back again! (Read the full post about ‘TOP 10 Transformers’…)

Now here’s a musical instrument that will definitely make your day - a Laser Harp. Created by Stephen Hobley, this guy was inspired by Jean Michael Jarre stringing his highly theatrical Laser Harp live 22 years ago, and has finally achieved his dream of building one just like it. The Laser Harp can be built for less than $600, although you will need to pick up the $19 Laser Harp Plans and Source Code first. The “strings” on the Laser Harp doesn’t really make any sound as they’re just triggers for notes that are produced on a MIDI. Can someone make a Laser Guitar to woo a 21st century Juliet? There is nothing quite like sipping on a cup of hot coffee in the morning, but how many of us are alert enough the moment we get out of bed to know that something is hot/cold? With this Hot-Cold Mug, you will be able to tell the difference verbally, as it is capable of changing its color gradually from total white to black, where the former indicates that it is as hot as the surface of the sun itself while the latter means there is no more heat left in the coffee. The Hot-Cold Mug retails for $25 a pop and makes for a great office present.

If you’re an owner or prospective owner of the Cowon Q5W, you’re probably impressed with its myriad audio and video playback capabilities — but did you know it can handle emulation as well? Apparently, since the device is based on Windows CE, it’s fairly easy to get game emulators up and running on the 5-inch PMP. In the video you can watch a setup of what appears to be an SNES imitator playing both Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario Kart (two favorites of our SNES fanboy, Paul Miller, we suspect). The games are controlled by a decidedly non-Nintendo accessory — a PS1 controller connected via USB adapter. (Read the full post about ‘Cowon Q5W does SNES emulation with a PS1 controller’…)
