Considering that every mobile device needs to be charged, it would be nice to have something that you can use just in case you get into a pinch. After all, I can’t begin to count the times where my cell phone is about to die, and there isn’t an outlet handy that I can use for the next hour.
Enter the iGo, a mobile device charger that is mobile. The kit comes with two Duracell AA batteries that allow a user to plug into a mobile device in order to recharge and/or power it.
That is, it can charge any mobile device provided you have the proper tip for it. I have seen the tip, and it looks like a mini-USB, but I can’t confirm that.

Sprint Nextel has announced the planned roll-out of their Xohm WiMAX will be delayed. According to a company spokesperson we can now expect it “later in the year” but rumor has it that it will come sometime this summer. Sprint was also quick to make it clear that the delay was not due to anything technical, claiming that:
“We want to make sure the launch meets our expectation,”
This delay can not be good news for the recently announced Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition. As far as the Cloudbook Max announcement, we were initially put off by their availability which came as it was “expected to be available in a year,” it now seems that is no longer an issue.
Microsoft will not be killing off Windows XP this June as expected, instead it has been given an extension of life, sadly it was not due to the Save Windows XP Campaign that we saw, but instead because of the recent surge in low-cost computers such as the Eee PC, Cloudbook and recently announced 2go PC. Microsoft has announced that Windows XP Home will be available until at least June 2010 and for one year after Windows 7 is released, which could mean we will see availability through 2011 and possibly into 2012. According to the All About Microsoft blog, Microsoft has officially confirmed that you will no longer be able to purchase a copy of Windows XP after June 30th.
This was the original date set in the Windows Life-Cycle Policy, and the only exceptions are shipping in Ultra Low-Cost PCs, like the Asus Eee, or shipping preloaded on new machines. The ULPCs exception ends on June 30, 2010, or one year after the next version of Windows is available, whichever comes first.

That’s on top of the various high-level executive departures that have been taken place lately, not to mention the company’s plan to split off its mobile phone business, which will undoubtedly lead to more cuts down the line. The goal is to reduce costs by some $500M by the end of the year, and some of the jobs being lost come as Moto closes a factory in Singapore and a WiMAX development lab in Florida. Comcast has just made Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota residents very happy by rolling out its new 50Mbps service, with the “wideband” service to eventually hit phenomenal speeds of 160Mbps. This news will definitely make Torrent fans happy as they will be able to download plenty more stuff in the same amount of time. The 50Mbps service isn’t cheap though, costing $150 monthly. Will lines such as these see a fast adoption rate, heralding the beginning of the end for physical-based entertainment media?
