3G iPhone Rumored to Look “Radically Different”
Since no day is complete without "industry sources" or "analysts" coughing up "new details" about the 3G iphone, today’s rumor goes like this. Times Online in the UK has learned from said sources that the upcoming device will have a "radically different" appearance than the current phone we can all identify blindfolded and by scent alone. What this means remains to be seen, of course, but two possibilities are apparently a clamshell and a slider with a hardware QWERTY keyboard. Case Logic iPod Nano & iPod Classic Tin Cases

Case Logic iPod Nano & iPod Classic Tin Cases
Altoids seem to be just as popular for their curiously strong flavor as they are for the metal tins they come in. I’ve seen everything from headphone amps to battery backups to even actual iPods crammed into those tins, so it seems almost logical that someone would make one specifically designed for that purpose. Case Logic, who produces cases for nearly every piece of electronics on the market, is now selling a Traditional Tin metal case for the current generation ipod Nano and 80GB/160GB iPod Classic. The tins are custom fitted for either iPod, and are lined with a silicon insert to cushion the mp3 player while the metal case protects it from wear and tear. Giant Urinal or Rotating Shower Bath

Giant Urinal or Rotating Shower Bath

This is a bit of a twist (well spin) on a traditional bathroom, a bath one minute but a with a 180 degree turn it transforms into a shower. Designed by Ron Arad, the “Rotator” is made out of duralight® and is more of a work of art than just a simple bath. However looking at it does not fill me confidence about the comfort of bathing in it. To empty the bath simply rotate it until the water overflows, just make sure you have a drainage in your bathroom floor. More info over on De Zeen found via ID Asia. Samsung’s SCH-W599 enjoys both GSM / CDMA connectivity, long walks in park

Samsung’s SCH-W599 enjoys both GSM / CDMA connectivity, long walks in park
Samsung’s dual-mode SCH-W599 has made an appearance today and seems destined for China’s China Unicom network. This handset sports both 800MHz CDMA and also dual-band GSM — so yeah, not so terribly useful over here — 2 megapixel camera, FM radio, Bluetooth, and a 2.4-inch touchscreen with handwriting recognition. Form factor is pretty standard Samsung fare, though thicker than we’ve seen from them in recent efforts. Other notables include a dual-sim slot under the bonnet and VibTonz feedback from the touchscreen. We’re big on haptics round these parts, so we’ve got our collective fingers crossed we’ll be seeing more of this in the near future, right Samsung? Sony Ericsson W960i Review - Trusted Reviews

Sony Ericsson W960i Review - Trusted Reviews
Trusted Reviews has a review of the Sony Ericsson W960i and writes, “There is a front-facing camera for making video calls, and the main camera shoots stills at 3.2-megapixels. It has a dual LED flash, which I found better than a single light for indoor shooting, but there is no auto mode for the flash - it is either on or off. There is a macro mode and auto focus…The camera performance was variable under testing. The coloured dish shot as usual under normal household lighting conditions with no flash is a little dull but the colour reproduction is good. The pink flowering plants are overexposed though, which doesn’t bode too well for generic outdoor photography, and I noticed a bit of shutter lag which doesn’t inspire confidence when taking action shots…However the macro modes shots I took were superb. Stolen US military items being found on eBay, Craigslist

Stolen US military items being found on eBay, Craigslist
The Government Accountability Office recently sent out a report that there are stolen US military items currently being sold on Craigslist and eBay. However, there is no clue as to where these items came from or who is selling them. This comes after government investigators posed as buyers who successfully purchased prohibited items such as night vision goggles, army combat uniforms, special enhanced body armor vests and two F-14 fighter jet components. Investigators fear that these items, if sold to non-military personnel or civilians, could be used directly against the US troops and their allies. Important discussions have arisen since such items were posted for sale. (Read the full post about ‘Stolen US military items being found on eBay, Craigslist’…)

Is your GPS pointing you in the right direction?

Is your GPS pointing you in the right direction?
The GPS, the 21st century version of the compass. Invaluable to weary travelers who feel the air suck out of there lungs when they are unaware of the location of the nearest Starbucks. The technology, created by the US military and released to the public in the mid 1980’s by Presidential decree has blossomed into a top holiday gift and dashboard staple. Perfected with the discontinuation of selective availability in 2000 which helped to refine the systems accuracy, and thus enhance its marketability. Companies like Garmin and Tom Tom have lead the market with these tech must haves. But are we too reliant on the GPS? A generation lost when it comes to all matters cartographic?
