Kodak has just released the ESP 5 All-in-One Printer that is touted to offer the “latest in design and performance, providing a high quality, easy-to-use printing system.” It will utilize a 2-cartridge setup consisting of a full black cartridge and a five-ink color cartridge which retail for £6.99 and £9.99, respectively. I personally prefer the older Canon cartridges that use individual color tanks since those will help you save money in the long run. Other features of the ESP5 include a 3″ color LCD display, a memory card slot, and USB ports for easy printing options if you do not happen to have a computer in the vicinity. The Kodak ESP 5 will retail for £129.99.

Who says you need stunning graphics and intense visuals to enjoy playing a game? Mike McCracken doesn’t think so. In fact, he is the inventor of a new Audio Ping Pong game thats uses only your ears and the tilting motion of your head play the game.
The way Audio Ping Pong works is that a sound comes out of earphones placed on your head that resembles a ball rolling towards one side of your noggin. The object is to tilt your head either left or right to get the ball to stay balanced. As the game progresses the speed of the audio ball increases, making it harder to play.
Now granted you won’t look like the smoothest person in the world playing Audio Ping Pong.

With half my family living halfway around the world, I quickly embraced Skype, the program (or if you want to get technical, Voice Over Internet Protocol) that allows you to talk to other Skype users over your computer, for free. In fact, I’m always amazed that more of my friends and family haven’t signed up… it’s almost like they don’t want to chat to me for hours or something. Anyway, despite Skype calls being free to other Skype users, if you wanted to use your account to call landlines or mobile phones in the past, you would still have to pay - and the cost would depend on the length of the call and where you were calling. But no more! Skype’s new calling plan aims to encourage more people to pick up the service, and it sounds (Read the full post about ‘Get unlimited international calls with Skype’s new plan’…)

Guess phones aren’t the only devices that have turned smart - Breville’s Die-Cast Smart Toaster merges both form and function, featuring blue LEDs and soft-eject motorized toast slots in addition to a Spectrum Analyzer in the “Lift and Look” feature that makes it look more like an audio device than something which sits in your dining room. The toast will raise itself from the machine halfway through the cycle, enabling curious folk to check on its progress. The “A Bit More” switch is perfect for those who want a little bit extra of browning. Breville equipment isn’t cheap though, as the two slice version will retail for $130 while the four slice model is going for $230. (Read the full post about ‘Breville Die-Cast Smart Toaster’…)

by Nilay Patel, posted Apr 24th 2008 at 3:57PM We’re not ones to peer too deeply into the Apple crystal ball, but Geeksugar says that spec-bumped iMacs are due on Tuesday, and the timing seems about right. Nothing major, apparently, just a speed bump and some bigger hard drives, but prices should stay the same. It’s still just a rumor, of course, but Geeksugar was right on the money about that MacBook / MacBook Pro bump last time around, apart from saying that multitouch trackpads would hit all of Apple’s portables. by Donald Melanson, posted Apr 24th 2008 at 3:18PM Sure, there’s plenty of basic dive computers out there, but if you really want to get some attention under the sea, you may want to consider something like Linde Wrdelin’s new “Sea Instrument,” which can even be had in a special 18K yellow gold edition if you want to go all out. Whether you opt for that or the basic anodized aluminum model, however, you’ll get the same transflective color display and sapphire crystal glass cover designed to be readable underwater, along with a 3-axis compass and access to all the vital information you’ll need including depth, dive time, decompression stops, and temperature, to name a few, not to mention a rechargeable battery that promises to deliver 28 hours of continuous use. The Seat Instrument dive computer was recently launched by Danish watch designers Linde Werdelin, clipping onto the Biformeter watc and providing you with all the necessary information whenever you go diving. It will come in two versions - steel and gold, where the former is $3,000 while the latter is way out of reach at $46,000. Both versions are useless if you do not fork out $5,000 for the Biformeter in the first place. (Read the full post about ‘Sea Instrument Dive Computer’…)

by Darren Murph, posted Apr 24th 2008 at 11:24AMOh yeah, we’re mildly excited that LG Display should be able to start cranking out product from its 8G LCD plant earlier than expected, but the real kicker here is the outfit’s outlook on OLED. Merely two days after hearing that Samsung was hoping to dish out affordable medium-to-large OLED displays in 2009 / 2010, we’re now getting word that LG Display is looking to offer up a 32-incher the year after. And we’re talking “volume production,” no less. Makes holding off on that XEL-1 that much easier, doesn’t it? (Read the full post about ‘LG Display aiming to mass produce 32-inch OLED TVs in 2011′…)

by Paul Miller, posted Apr 24th 2008 at 11:05AM Apparently reviewers weren’t the only ones not totally satisfied by iriver’s new E100. Crave UK has gotten wind of an upcoming revision from iriver already in the works that will get rid of that built-in speaker and redo the casing in aluminum — which would certainly be a nice switch from that weightless plastic of the E100. The lackluster screen is also getting swapped out for a “much brighter” version. No word of slimming the device down, but hopefully that’s in the works as well.
